Lithology and Thickness
Deposited after a continental alteration phase (bauxite) on the Galhama formation, this argillaceous, sandy formation with kaolinite and iron oxides comprises three units which are, from bottom to top: 3. Lower unit of micaceous siltstones with ferruginous beds; 2. Coarse-grained sandstones locally silicified 1. Upper unit of an alternation of coarse clayey sandstones and ferruginous oolite. 20-50 m thick.
